SCOPE Deep
A deeper look.
Into the mathematical unknown.

Stay with the difficult question.
SCOPE Deep is the deep-field research architecture within SCOPE, built for sustained investigation of harder and higher-value mathematical problems.
SCOPE Deep is currently evolving toward longer research windows and larger inference budgets for a smaller number of carefully chosen questions.
The emphasis shifts from covering ground to sustained investigation: revisiting an obstruction, developing a missing idea, and carrying a difficult argument through to completion.
Fewer, deeper investigations.
Focus on problems whose importance justifies a larger research commitment, beyond the short-window survey setting.
Evolving for depth.
SCOPE Deep is undergoing iterative development and evaluation for sustained mathematical investigation. Longer research windows and larger inference budgets give ideas room to mature; they do not guarantee a solution.
The same standard of proof.
Longer exposure does not relax the requirements for correctness, originality, or an explicit account of what has and has not been established.
SCOPE Deep’s evolution programme is underway. Its research methods remain under development; this status does not imply a mature service or established performance gains.
